I'll second that!

Wow, I'm surprised with the e805's showing. As much as the A620!

This is late, but the Axim's speed is greatly enhanced with the new OS.

With the larger VGA display on the e805, you owners realize that a game would have to fill 4 times the number of pixels per-frame compared to the other QVGA devices, don't you?

While some games aren't limited by fill rate, most are. Since the e805 is currently the only device out there with a VGA screen (AFAIK), why would a game developer waste time in making a 640x480 version of their game when the 320x240 version would still run on your device? In order for the game to run at an acceptable frame rate, game developers might have to spend a lot more time optimizing the game for the e805. I'm curious, would you be willing to pay more for a VGA version of the game to justify this work? How much more would you be willing to pay?

Palm made the jump to hi-res with a lot of games, no reason PPC shouldn't be able to either. Of course we won't see Anthelion or Quake at that resolution, but a lot of games should be able to.

Ipaq 1910. FYI, my wife has an Audiovox Maestro but she doesn't visit PM so she won't vote.
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.

Just to give an example of how the Axim Basic is just as fast as any other device: When Worms World Party was released, everyone was complaining that it was so slow and that it was almost unplayable on most devices....but when I tried it on my Axim Basic with WM2003, it ran practically full speed.

2D games, especially games like Worms, can be highly optimized at the software level to work around hardware deficiencies. Specifically they can use a technique called Dirty Rectangles, where only portions of the screen that have been changed since the last frame are actually blitted to the display. Fullscreen 3D games cannot benefit from this type of optimization, because what is output is much more dynamic, and every pixel of the display is usually changed each frame.

The next version of PocketHAL should include this capability to help some types of games perform better on MediaQ GPUs.
