I'm having trouble trying to connect. I've been busy with research the past few weeks, so I didn't have an opportunity to try to play with the new intersil drivers until the last day or so. I've been enjoying listening to mp3s on my a620 without draining the battery.

Regardless, when I tried to connect today, I wasn't able. The WEP key was accepted, and the SSID was visible. However, I still couldn't connect. The icon in the bottom corner of the screen was green (like it normally is when you have a signal), but it had a red X through it. Any ideas what that means? I'm going to install the PocketWiNc and see if that gives me any more insight into what's going on.

Reset everything. WiFi router, cable modem and ppc. When mine does that it works.

Well, it's not within my power to reset the wireless routers in our academic buildings. So that's not much of an option. Do you have any other thoughts or reasons that might explain the icon with a red X?

These things are going for $46 shipped at amazon. I have placed an order for one. This will probably hold me over for another 3 years with my asus a620 lol. I am amazed that PDAs spec wise really haven't seen much innovation at all, other than higher res screens. As nice as having one would be its gotta have more than just a fancy screen to seduce me.

Or is all on the PocketPC pda innovations going into these hybrid PDA phones?

the download links on the first page no longer work

If you would like to download the drivers they can be found at

http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/h/0028.asp

and info about enabling the power save is at

http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/h/0034.asp

Make sure to download the PRISM_WinCE300.209.zip file and transfer the cab file that has the numbers 2336 I think to the PDA if you have Windows Mobile 2003. But don't worry too much because if it is the wrong version for that cab it will not allow you to install it.

But make sure you install the cab PRISM driver first w/o the wireless card in then install the Sandisk driver without the wireless card in then insert the card or reset if necassary.

Unlike with the instructions on the first page, if you install the PRISM driver last your sure to screw up and you will have to rename the PRISM dll file via activesync to remove it. I know I did 5 times, trying other prism drivers aswell.
