I don't know if this is a re-post, but
shows the new X-Scale based Toshiba e550. I managed to have a play with one ysterday. Initial impressions;
(1) Great screen. Physically bigger than any others I have seen.
(2) Cursor button a bit small. It is a bit difficult to control without making mistakes. Having said that, it gives a reasonably firm response and positive feedback.
(3) On-off button on the front is well positioned, it feels more natural.
(4) Games performance (using Defender) not appreciably different from current ARM, MIPS based machines.
(5) Computationally intensive apps run noticably faster (about 30-50% rule of thumb).
First impressions; the best machine that I have come accross (have worked with IPaqs, Toshiba Genio, Casio E-200, E-750 and Jornados). Its a shame about the graphics performance.
