I think you deserve a break!
In case anyone is interested, I solved the pinnacle problem - if you use the stylus to get to the pinnacle from another map location, but hold the stylus ont the screen during the screen change, you can then view the pinnacle screen correctly until you take the stylus off the screen again
and Freelook won't be broken in 0.6.1 (maintenance release due in a few weeks I think)
