Pocket Scumm and an SVP C550

Pocket Scumm and an SVP C550

Postby socratic » Aug 2, 2005 @ 1:57pm

Hello everyone,

I was hoping someone would know if it's possible to run pocketscumm on an SVP C550 phone?
I've read that it's possible to get it to run on other phones but I'm having some trouble with mine.

What happens is that when I run the scummvm.exe from the file manager it loads up but only displays half of the game setup screen in landscape mode when as you know the phone screen is portrait. Also I can't move the cursor even though I read the readme that says that it should be mapped to the numpad.

Is there a config file I'm supposed to edit in order to get this to recogise it's running on a mobile?

I've looked all over the net but couldn't find any info so I'm either looking in the wrong places or it's not there...

I'm using the Windows Mobile 2003 for PocketPC and Smartphone version
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/scum ... p?download
which was posted here

Any help will be most appreciated!
Thanks a lot!

I have the same problem with my t-mobile sda2 (maybe the same like spv 550 ?!)

Image

Did I forget to do some .ini editing or sth.??

As you can see it's the experimental 0.8 version, but it is the same with version 0.7.1.

Controls don't work either. The game is only in the list, because I tried to edit the .ini manuallyfor adding the game. But guess what - it doesn't work :(

OK I tried to set landscape=true in the .ini file under the section [scummvm].

With the following result:

Mmh. Well, it cannot work properly on a 550 right now (it'd think that the device is a Pocket PC and not a Smartphone and switch to a wrong input mode), but at least should display things properly. I don't understand why the display is not rotated. Tell me if you can run it in debug mode through EVC and tell me the output when the display is initialized. Otherwise I'll have to try it in a simulator, and it's going to take some time.

I also have an Orange SPV C550 , apparently the same phone as a HTC Huricane I have the same fault as everyone else.
and both the phones apparently do the same thing.
Im bagging a GP2X handheld soon which will have its own version of Scummvm but I would love to play Monkey isle 1 on the train or something how fantastic would that be.

Has anyone managed to get it running somehow yet on their SPV C550.

its a smartphone , its running windows 2003 smartphone edition so it can only be a minor tweak required as it runs on other similar devices.
