I like pocketHAL because

1) I ask a pointer to a framebuffer and it gives it to me.
2) I do what I have to do
3) I ask phal to paint the framebuffer and it paints the framebuffer.

I can't see any plugin example which can be put in "1)" and "3)" and can't be put in "2)", if you could give an example of "real" plugin it'd help the readers to understand :)

and as pocketfrog is open source you can remove the extra layers you don't like

I'm not sure why you'd want this plugin interface added into PHAL. It seems like it'd be a better thing to develop seperately to interface with PHAL. Call it the "PocketHAL Loadable Utilities". Or PHALLUs....get it?

Anyways, keep PocketHAL specific.
