PocketHAL operation mode

PocketHAL operation mode

Postby _grumpy » Jul 5, 2006 @ 11:51am

Hi,
Is it possible to detect when PocketHAL uses GAPI?
I understand that during initialization PH will try to access hardware itself. If failed it uses GAPI. My question is how to detect this?
Thanks in advance
Clark

Why do you need to detect this? The whole point of PocketHAL is that you shouldn't have to do this.

I notice that when using PH in windowed mode native PH and GAPI manages buffer in different ways. So I want to know if GAPI is in use or not. Any solution?
Thanks

PocketHAL doesn't support windowed mode at all. So I am not sure I understand what you are trying to do.

I got PH working in window mode. It works. But problem is detecting GAPI is used or not.

I have no idea how you got PocketHAL to work in windowed mode (unless you just created a GDISurface that you bitblt to the screen's DC).

But if it works for you... Why do you need to detect if PocketHAL uses GAPI?

I think there is a difference between GAPI and none-GAPI mode: a shift by 26 pixels (taskbar height). So I need to detect this.

I'll repeat it one last time: PocketHAL does not support windowed mode. I suggest you use GDISurface directly and use the DC to blit it to your window.
