Symbian sales temporarily paused

Hi all,

As you all know we are working on constantly improving GapiDraw for all platforms supported. Some of the changes we have recently made to the Symbian version include full GapiVFS support as well as greatly improved direct screen access. We will publish a new version for Symbian shortly that includes these improvements.

Currently however many things are happening on the Symbian platform. The new operating system Symbian v9 has very few similarities with the current series 60 platform, and new phones running Symbian 9 will be released this summer.

We have decided to temporarily stop sales of the Symbian platform until we know how much work it involves in porting GapiDraw for the Symbian v9 platform. We don't want people to buy a new GapiDraw license today only to find out that it doesn't work on out-of-the-box devices released this summer.

Once we know how much work it involves to port GapiDraw to Symbian 9, and have a set release date, we plan to begin sales on the Symbian platform again.

Please note that temporarily pausing sales of Symbian licenses do not affect our current commitment to the platform. We will shortly release a new version of GapiDraw 3.7 that will include the GapiVFS + the improved Direct Screen access, and we have lots of things we want to improve to the current 3.x branch!

Also, we still plan to release GapiDraw 4.0 shortly which will include full video memory support etc on Windows Mobile 5.0 devices together with other various improvements.

Sincerely
Johan
