Skirmish Mode...

Is there going to be somekind of skirmish mode, like in Starcraft, Command & Conquer, and most every decent RTS availible on PC?

Also, what're your multiplayer plans in the future? TCP/IP? Maybe IR play.. Although, I'd rather have TCP/IP..

Either way.. I'm still getting Argentum, just for the single player if anything.

Okay. I follow you now. You can see why I'm not writing an RTS - it's been over a decade since I played that genre of game on my Amiga. :)

So each map / scenerio has some sort of supplied strategy to give the AI hints, or does the AI just do its thing generically?

Well actually AI in skirmish mode is probably the most advanced AI you will find in games, the enemy starts up in the same conditions as you he has no knowlege of the map just like you do, and he has to choose where to build his base, build the defenses properly, gather minerals etc etc hehe, it's really something pretty wild when you sit down and think about how to code it.

On the other hand when you have a human built map the AI has to worry about mining, building up forces, attacking, defending and rebuilding basically. so the cpu load (and programming load hehe) is reduced dramatically.

no skirmish? skirmish is the bones of an rts game. will you make it moddable so someone can make a skirmish pack/plugin for it.
and it looked so good until now.

Argh, no negative posts please, you don't know the effect of negative posts to programmers really. Save them when the game is released, we have to get ourselves together and finish the game soon.
