Avenger, I'm guessing that the no sound on E-115G is caused by fmod. Snails had the same bug. But if Ag doesn't use fmod, well oops.
holy internets batman.

Jornada 567 Loading freeze

Postby HowlingBears » Apr 30, 2002 @ 11:11pm

Huh. Under the original demo, I had no troubles with a load-freeze like some of the other Jornada owners. Under 1.01, though, I now have a loading freeze right after I hit "deploy" for the 1st mission.

I've since deleted the old .exe and loaded the one Carpe posted, and now when I try to run Argentum,
I get the initial black loading screen for a moment, but then the screen goes to a white-background screen with start-bar stuff up top, and a pop-up window that says "File not found" in the title-bar, and inside: "Could not find the file '\main\interface\cross.ibp' ".

It's really annoying to try and try again with that non-skippable tutorial, btw. I think the key would be to make the tutorial less-accidentally-skippable. Like a big blatant SKIP button would make me happy. Played it last night though, and dug it, aside from massive slowdowns in Mission 4 in gigantic battles with hordes of units... I couldn't really affect the battle much once it had started.

Thanks, and good work!

Freezing on loading screen
I had the same problem, until I removed my computer from the cradle.

The cross.ibp error message is because you are running version 1.0, redownload the demo which is 1.01 and try again. it should work.

and yeah, the no skip tutorial is leaving, it annoys me too.

1.0 vs. 1.01

Postby HowlingBears » Apr 30, 2002 @ 11:20pm

Carpe, I'm fairly sure I'm running 1.01. I didn't get load-freezes on my device (which has all the HP firmware-type updates and plenty of free memory) until I deleted 1.0 and installed 1.01, which I downloaded after you posted about it, by clicking on the download-arm/ipaq version link. Is there any way to verify for certain which release I'm running? (That might be a good thing to throw in somewhere, if not.)

Thanks!

hmmm. I'm having this error message AFTER having installed the 1.01 version

Fred

PS : after that, I've copied the exe (004) that is located into the cab, and tried it again, to verify that it was running, and that it was really a version 1.01. It's that version, because of the tutorial, and it freeze after the tutorial (loading screen, as always).
