Argentum for HPC2000?

I never said anything, NOR did I complain about the lack of a Legacy port to PPC. I could care less. HPC still lacks a port for the masses, simply because all the sourcecode was lost.

There are two kinds of people- those that have their work on display to be criticized, and those that don't. Figure out which one you are, and then explain to me in excrutiating detail how you earned the right to criticize Dan East as a coder.

Just because Rob didn't get to start or finish his ports doesn't make that he is necesarily a bad programer. He attempted to write ports of Wolfenstein 3D and Doom Legacy which are both fps games. Although amazing programers like Dan East managed to port fps games, it is not an easy thing to do and many pocket pc programmers would probably fail in my opinion also. Making and porting a fps game is harder than to make a normal 2d type game- why do you think there are no fps games made specially for our devices? Infectious ground is the nearest thing to one and is not even close to a proper 3d fps. People need to realize that 3d games are hard to make and fps games are even harder to do. In fact unless someone like Dan East makes a port of another one we are probably never going to see many more, let alone a brand new pocket pc one. If Rob managed to do a Doom port for the hpc then i think he has already proved that he can program well and he still has right to his opinion. I for one would be confident if Rob was allowed to do a Argentum port to hpc (but I know he isn't ).

Rob, Anonymous didn't redeem you. In fact I had an entire article written out and submitted, that debunked 99% of what Anon said. Adding the additional crap that has been spouted before.

Carpedium, sure you can give Rob the source. Hire him as a contractor and
make him sign NDA. Argentum code doesn't contain secrets vital to
the national security, does it? Whether he is skilled enough
to make an HPC port is a completely different question. Whether IONside is
interested in making HPC port is another. On other side, I doubt that anyone in clear mind would spent time to port Argentum for free just to make IONSide
investors richer.

This forum (all of PM) is a way to write stupid comments that would cause our friends (in the real world) to strongly question our sanity.
