Successfully implemented gzip compression into the library now. Each file is gzipped, instead of the whole lib (gzip is one-file-only compression for those who didn't know). This makes it all fast since it only decompresses the stuff that is relevant. And we save a lot of space. Hurray!

// Fredrik
OK I've finished the base part of my map editor (from scratch). Right now, you can load a picture from the menu and adjust the zoom level.

I need some more info on what to do next. I understand that there should be a list of objects you can place on the map. and you can save a text file with the positions of the objects. Is that all I need to do?

thanks.

Yep, that's it buddy.
Just write on the text file if it's an enemy or friendly unit, what position it is in and that's about it.
Maps are 1024x1024 at the moment.
We'll probably want more stuff in the map editor, but that should do for now.
The map-editor is almost done :) I'm just finishing the file load/save stuff and other details, but everything else works. The olny (minor) detail is that the images for the units aren't transparent.... but its just a map editor!

I'll post again in the nex few days when it is totally finished and upload a copy to my website.

-esw
