How is the game supposed to know where you mean your clicking from? I found that the bottom left placement is consistant, and incredibly easy if your building from left to right, as most do. There's also a shadow when you click on things once, so you can see where it's going to be built. And you can bulldoze quite easily (though I do admit undo wouldn't be a half bad option)

As for stairs, the page should be launched soon with a complete online manual.

A couple more minor things.

The left hand menu bar displays vertical navigation icons (up arrow, down arrow) when no options is available. (i think i already saw a post on this)

The active option chosen from the left menu bar does not change colour or indicate that it is selected from the left hand menu bar, instead you must read the text below, could the icon simply depress, change colour, flash or something ?

The left hand menu bar does not differentiate between items which can be expanded horizontaly, maybe a small right arrow or indicator on items that can be expanded.

The volume control in the options screen does not say what it is for, i assume it is for music volume ? is it possible to have a sound effects volume ?
Also the volume has no effect on the (quite loud) startup sound.

When grid is enabled you cannot place items on the far left grid, should the grid areas in which you can't build be grayed out ?

Sorry, i guess i must be a bit slower than you guys, I hope you don't take these suggestions as a negative.

Thanks

Hi maaddog,

First of all, we would like you to know that we value each and every suggestion made not only for Tower Mogul but for all our products. So do not hesitate to post your suggestions and feedback whether they maybe negative or positive. :)

About your concerns, I will try to explain our side one by one.

1. The left hand menu bar arrow buttons will be addressed on the next version -- this is a minor UI revision.

2. As you can see, creating a game without mouse overs is quite difficult and Tower Mogul will surely have a lot of UI issues based on every player's perspective. The reason we did not "highlight" a selected tool icon is because we felt that the text on the status bar is enough info to indicate what tool is currently selected. However, we are not closing this option because you have a valid point and we'll see what we can do.

3. That is a nice suggestion but once you get the feel of how the menu bar expands (as this was shown on the tutorial), we also felt that it was a minor issue. We'll also see what we can do on the next version.

4. May I know what device are you using? The sound volume is supposedly "universal" so it works both for the music and sound effects as what we have tested on our end.

5. This is a nice suggestion but then again, we have other implications like what if the game grid is disabled?

6. As for giving out instructions as to how each unit can be placed and constructed, we will expound on this more on the online manual because some people find this complicated and some find it easier. There is no better compromise than having a documentation available to all players. :) We hope you understand. Watch out for it in a day or two. We're just doing the finishing touches.

I hope this clears much of your concerns. We are trying to make the game better each day so we hope you can bear with us. It's almost impossible to make everybody happy because some suggestions are obviously just a user preference and we are taking each step as we get there. If there is anything you need addressed ASAP, you can also drop me an email personally at erick@esoftinteractive.com or support@esoftinteractive.com.

Again, thank you very much for playing Tower Mogul.

Regards,

Erick

I thought everything was build on the top left. Such as stairs, you have to tap on the second level to make a stair span from the first to the second.
