Is PocketC even being made for the PocketPC any more? The only reason I ask is because I looked into that tool before I found PPL. It seemed to me that it hadn't been updated for quite some time, so I wrote the company and asked what their plans were for the product, and I never got a response. If there are no plans to update the product, it would seem to me your time would be better spent developing benchmarks against constantly evolving products (such as NSBasic).

Hi guys,

PointOfLight,

I know what you mean about PocketC. It seems to be discontinued. I believe you can still download the stuff from orbworks and use it though. (Who knows, it could even become a 'free' abandonware thing) I didn't plan spending much time on a cross-platform comparison routine - maybe an hour or two at most. I'd like to see the difference out of my own interest.

Kornalius,

Re. NSBASIC. Yes its an IDE for VBScript and I guess this means its simply interpreted. They do list some differences on the site between commands and functions available in NS and eVB, so I guess they have added their own library's. A major difference is that NS allows dynamic form building. I did notice last time I looked that they were touting some new technology which promised to accelerate performance above and beyond eVB. If I can download a demo (I think they allow a limited desktop version) I'll include NSBASIC as a subject in my testing.

Hmmm..., Obviously I'll need PPL before I can do anything more... hint hint :D

I actually own a copy of NSBasic, so if you come up with some routines I'd be more than happy to write the NSBasic versions of them for comparison. Just let me know.

PointOfLight,

Great! Sounds like a plan. I'll get back to you...

Andy.
