"News reports have indicated that chipmaker SigmaTel has inked a deal with Apple to provide chipsets for an upcoming MP3 player. The stories note that the player will NOT be a harddrive-based model like the iPod and iPod Mini, rather a flash-based device that will likely be much smaller than the iPod Mini, but with smaller storage capacity.
