Laptops and ActiveSync

Postby RICoder » Nov 6, 2001 @ 1:47pm

I know I have heard other people say they have this problem.

My laptop drops connection to my PPC after a certain amount of time, or if I copy/install a large file to it. Very odd.

Anyone know of a fix? (and don't say 3.5, because I have it).

(I POSTED THIS IS 2 PLACES, BUT I NEED HELP)

I'm only speculating, but perhaps the power management scheme for your laptop is set to power down the USB port after a certain amount of time?

Dan East

Still, you may try checking your BIOS configuration to make sure serial port power management is not enabled (if it even has it).

Dan East

Ya know, I checked the BIOS and I had the power management on. Thats fixed. Then I updated my BIOS, thinking it might be a LITTLE old. It was ver04, now it is ver18! OOOPS! No more problems!
