My advise is not to take your job to serious. You shall of course do your best at work but don't let it affect you personally. If you ever get to work in a large cross site project you might get frustrated that there is so much politics involved and that things are not done very rationally. It is very easy as a newbie to be naive and think that everyone is working for the same goal, but this is not always the case.

Thanks for all the replies, everybody. Looking at where the suggestions overlap (or vary) is enlightening. You all seem like you'd be easy to work with, so that's a good sign.

It's kind of interesting that 'fun' got so much mention. Is burn-out a big problem in the industry?

Sidenote: It's easy to tell at a glance which two guys emphasized communications the most. :) I really appreciate the in-depth responses, refractor/fzammetti.

Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."
