Yeah i was just thinking that. I was messing around with Boycott Advance and its absolute rubbish! No offence to the author because its still early in development. If you compare it to ZSnes or something its just terrible. I really want to get involved in the PPC dev scene. I would like to do a GBA emu but I'll say it again, I NEED HELP! :)

I say if you want to get involved in the PPC dev scene, make a new game. !!! :D We just don't have enough to choose from that are all that great. And the great ones, well...most of those people are reading these boards right now. So talk to them!
I can see any reluctancy towards a GBA emulator. B/C of the fact that it might run so poorly that it won't even be playable. Slow can be playable but there is a point of no return.
Then again....sooner or later someone is going to do it. So it might as well be you. Did that sound insulting? LOL. Anyway, if it would please you to be the first, ask around on a few other boards for help. I really haven't done much emulation and GAPI always causes me problems because I'm dumb. So I don't think my services would be of any use. ;)

yeah, GAPI confuses me! I can't decide which is harder, making a game from scratch or porting. I suppose making from scratch give you the bonus of complete understanding of the source. But I'm also finding difficuly in choosing a genre.

Hey Shapeshifter,
CCS64 is an awesome C64 emulator. but its shareware. i don't even know what language its written in so porting it to PPC may not be the most feasible thing to do. oh well. I really want to play my White Viper on my PPC. That was my favorite C64 game. <sigh>

Instead of focusing on a genre (I assume you mean RTS, RPG, FPS, Sidescroller... ) why not focus on the idea instead.

Eventually the genre will present itself, after you have the underlying gameplay planned out.
