Active sync does not connect, it says it is unable to find software agent on the host machine.

It looks like it's you ip settings. On www.cewindows.net there is a section explaining how to doit (for ce2.11). Also on the PocketProjects.com developer forum I started a topic called 'Network debugging', there are some useful links in there.

Sorry I can't be of any more help, I thought you could sync just not download from eVC++

Cheers

Bad

Okay, in your desktop machine do you have 2 cards installed? So if you have a hub intween your devices it works, but if you use a xover cable it won't? Is that using the exact same cards?

Dan East

Yes I have two seperate network cards, a 3COM and an Intel.
Yes with the hub (only one card us used) it works, when I try using the other card instead of a hub it doesn't.
I have verified the other card by putting it as the card connected to the hub.
I would be happy just using the hub, but at home I don't have the extra network socket and a network card is cheaper than a hub and extra cableing.

I will check
www.cewindows.net to see if it has anything to say,
thanks for your help.

Just a quick question. I own a good PCMCIA network card (Linksys Ethernet Combo) that I use all the time on my laptop. Any idea if I can get this to work on a PPC? If yes, do I need an adapter? Which one/ where do I get it?

muuuhuuuuhaaahaaaa!

That's a good question, with a good answer. I know that I saw a how-to to get a PCMCIA card working with a Casio...but I forget where. I'll dig around and post later.

The iPaq, of course, does not have this problem.
If you had an @migo you'd already have a PCMCIA slot. Either way, the Linksys PCMCIA ethernet cards require a beta Linksys driver to make them function properly.
