Hi guys,

No one is dead here at overloaded. As you where guessing right we are really busy with loads of projects ourselves.
The forum is a 2 way street, and traffic should be generated either from us or from you guys. The last weeks, neither you nor us had loads of things to say. It's that simple actually... :)

which doesn't mean we are dead... I'll try and convince Jacco to give some sort of update on the progress and state of things here.

happy coding! :D

<short explanation>

Nah, we're not dead. :) It's quiet here because a lot of things are changing though. We made some observations:

- The planned introduction of Smartphones has been delayed.
- The planned introduction of J2ME enabled phones is happening as planned.
- No one is using GPRS.

This required some modifications to our initial plans: We started a J2ME team, and those guys are currently struggling to get good results, wich is quite hard. No one seems to know how to get decent performance from Java. No two devices are really the same. No one writes tutorials.

And, to make things even more complicated, just now the first Java games are getting ready here at Overloaded, we made the following observation:

- Symbian is taking over J2ME.

Wich is good, since Symbian is C++, and C++ equals Overloaded Game Foundation.

IN THE MEANTIME PocketPC development is continuing. But, with a smaller team. And, with all the recent changes, we didn't release new versions of our libraries.

So, what are we doing now, you might ask? :) Well, simple: We keep the PocketPC knowledge alive because we want to do Smartphone stuff. :) And, we keep the Java stuff alive because that's what everyone wants right now. And, we investigate Symbian, because that's what everyone will want in a month or two.

Besides that, we're improving the quality of our productions, we're selling on Handango, we're preparing for retail sales (will start next month), and we're having fun. We're definitely not dead. ;)

- Jacco.
Give me some good data and
I will give you the world
