Do you mean 221mhz or 236? It crashes for me at 236, and the values you show for 236 match my 221 results. Thanks Justin!

Dan East

I just put what he gave me. I assume it's right. Some iPAQ's can reach 236mhz, some cannot.

236mhz was not a typo. My iPAQ runs perfectly stable at 236mhz, unlike some/most others. I did not try 221mhz or underclocking(to save batteries) benchmarks. If I get REALLY bored, I may do this later. During the benchmarks, nothing was running in the background but I did have the power cable plugged in (would this make a difference?). I would like to compile a benchmark chart of all devices, as inspired by Intel.

I just noticed this while analyzing the data:
At default 206mhz, there was no variance in the data. When overclocked the data fluxuated and seemed to be a little more unpredictable.

This is pretty interesting, but there is not enough info to draw any conslusions.

that is weird, isn't it. but maybe i dont want to stray into the wacky world of Floating Point Math...

Uhm.. What about FPM? It's called instability because it wasn't made to go that fast.

What's very interesting about these numbers is that it's almost achieving full scaling.

That is, the higher frequency is about 14% higher and the measured frame rates are about 12% and 13% higher, respectively.

This means that it's still very CPU bound. No surprise. Getting rid of the floating point will be VERY beneficial at this point.

Haim
--
Haim Barad
Handheld Computing Division - Systems Engineering
Intel

You can get rid of the floating points by bating a line with tuna and fishing them out, it's a slow process but it works. Oh wait, you mean the mathmatical thing?
