"it works perfectly" means it works for what the tutorial said it would do: connect to internet through a USB synch.<br><br>It cites NOTHING about a network connection with TCP/IP and UDP, which is required to play Multiplayer Quake.<br><br>I have even tried port mapping, but to no avail :(

I know of TWO CF to PC CARD (!) adaptors. Here's the link to both:<br>http://www.accurite.com/CFPCAdapter.html<br>http://www.sycard.com/cfext166.html<br><br>The second one is better because it uses a flexible flat cord, unlike the first one which is on a PCB board. If you got the second you could tape it around the back so the card was facing towards the ground.

Well, it all depends on when and where you're going to use it. If it's mobile than the second one is what you need, just check to make sure the specs on it are enough to match the PC Card you're looking at. The top one can take ANY PC Card because it has an external power supply.

Ok.  That way I could get the sierrra wireless card thingy! That thing is Phat, but since it requires Broadband and a home networking port, does not recieve Dr. Phat's Phat Seal of Phatness.

Uhm.. more like 200 dollars. RICs go as low as $40 and hubs couldn't be more than $120, depending on the size of the HUB.

lets see... new NICs can go for as little as $14 for 10/100. Used NICs are less. PCMCIA NICs are significantly more.<br><br>New hubs can be had for as little as $40. Used hubs can be as low as $5.<br><br>If you only have 2 computers, a hub isn't necessary though. (requires a cross-over cable)

umm, lets see- wireless!  oh, no less than $400 for a hub.  And the Sierra aricard is about $250, that would cost more than my PDA!

Wireless is ALWAYS cool. But really, why wireless networking? So you can synchronize with your PC while sitting on the toilet?<br><br>I think I'd rather have wireless internet (via wireless modem or cellular) and VPN, and synch that way.

Oh yeah, and I'm not knocking those who have a wireless network. If you have the extra money, go for it.<br><br>I have 6 computers on my LAN at home (two laptops), I can't imagine how much it would have cost to make it all wireless.

That is my point, Sierra AirCard is wireless, and requires at least a wireless hub, therefore it does not recieve my Phat Seal of Phatness.  Now, if something Inexpensive would plug into a USB port and support the AirCard, I would give it two seals of phatness!
