All you have to do is go to save game under the main menu.

HELP!!!

Postby iPAQaholic » Feb 3, 2002 @ 3:55am

I tried doing that under the main menu, then it says that it can't open (I'm assuming it can't open the folder for the save....) now what?

It appears there's a problem saving for devices that have more than 1 Storage Card. The new Pocket PC 2002 devices that allow access to the "extra" ROM space do so by creating a virtual Flash Card. For some reason it looks like PQ / PQ2 is wanting to save to that dir. Try creating a \quake\id1 dir in your iPaq storage space and see if it saves the games in there. PQ2 people should create \quake2\baseq2\ in their ROM dir.

Someone has verified that "fixes" the problem. For some reason PQ wants to save to the internal "storage card" which is exposed by some new Pocket PC 2002 devices to provide access to the unused ROM space. The fix I stated above does work, although the game files will be saved to your extra ROM instead of the location of the game files. This is probably true for PQ2 as well.

Saving Problem

Postby Kruegs » Mar 16, 2002 @ 2:36am

I also could not save. I tried your fix and it did work, but I think I also found another fix. It would not save when I was using the uncommpressed pak0.pak instead of pak0.pak.gz even though I had plenty of free space. So I switched back to the compressed file and it lets me save again (with out saving in ROM). I also have an iPAQ 3765. Maybe this will help debug this problem.
