Quake for CE2.11 HPC's now available.

As has been discussed many times before, the reason Quake runs slowly is that current handheld devices lack a floating point processor. The resolution will make very little difference. I suppose I could try 160x120 and streching the screen, but it'll look pretty scruffy and I doubt they'll be a big FPS increase.

FelixDD: I think we must be getting closer. Is it better or worse than Doom? (the early version I sent).

I'll have a look at the quitting problem. There's a lot I want to do to HPC Quake anyway. (eg: merge with original PQ code, sound, etc)

Maybe you could make a test program for the 770 that would rotate through different settings each time you hit enter or something, then when someone hits the right one they can tell you what it was?

I have the same results, 770. The triangle is not a solid colour. It is a gradiated rectangle from black to red (on a vertical gradient moving from left to right), and with bright green vertical stripes that gradually turn to yellow stripes at regualar intervals. There are 32 stripes (not including the ends).

Try this:
http://home.freeuk.com/gamefreaks/pq_mips.zip
This is not a link to the version on my site.

Use the PQL build in the zip file to launch with the MP770 box checked. (Alternatively, use -mp770 as a command-line parameter)
Does it work?
