Totally silent, too. That's most impressive. Hitting 60 in 4 seconds without making a noise.

Old news, though. This guy has been trying to produce this vehicle for a good 2 years now.

Geez, so much talk about the electric motor and a mere passing mention of the car it's based on?

It's an Ariel Atom. An Atom with a good ol' 300HP supercharged Honda engine is faster than that electric car, and sells for $40-$50k. Not a bad deal at all, although you do end up riding in something that's marginally safer than a bike.

Here's a Top Gear review of it to give you an idea:

Can you guys get the latest episode of Top Gear? Worth downloading from Bittorrent, but you might be able to get it from the BBC's BBC Two website.

They're offering repeats of loads of stuff on the net now, though it's pretty rubbish quality.
Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."

No, we can't. We used to be able to get a couple reruns for a month or two over last summer, but they nixt that and are trying to bring an "American Top Gear" with these crass grease monkeys and country songs.
