Yeah. The AI is pretty good but a few tweaks here and there would be nice. For one, if you have a map with just a Command Center and ITBA for you and the AI. I've found the AI doesn't really build any buildings at all. Have to provide them for him and scale the time or starting argentum so they don't overwhelm the player.

Hmm, I tried a few other games and programs using the remote desktop. I dunno why it fails for me sponge. Maybe its my device (Zayo), but I'm not sure. At any rate, any game that goes fullscreen I've tested turns the remote white. Any windowed game (like Simcity 2000 for instance) is visible.

esw: I agree with the texture thing. If there were a way to keep it at that resolution instead of doubling it, it would certainly look much better.
anyway, ill submit the map for download. its something different at least

UPDATE

Got a hosted spot for the map files. You can download them now properly from Ionside.com. So feel free to check em out and tell me what you think. Maybe you think its better than I felt the results were. Or perhaps you think it sucks. :)

Spiced up the map a bit. I did up the heightmap to match what Starcraft considered elevated terrain. Looks a bit better now. Doesn't look as "blurry" as it did before. I also thought the AI was too easy as I beat it pretty fast when I tested it myself. So now I tried it and got my butt kicked.

I don't see how bumping the terrain texture to 1024x1024 would significantly improve anything. The game already renders great, and the graphics are impeccable (referring to the full-version maps)

All that "improvement" will do is add bloat, making storage 4 times higher, and mem requirements 4 times higher for that one map. Ionside did an excellent job balancing the "prettiness" and storage/running requirements. IMHO, thats just about the most difficult part of game design. Anyone can create high-res graphics and a bloated engine. It takes real talent to fit it into a nutshell.
