I get 9.5 FPS with optimized cfg. I bet I could get more if I did a hard reset.

You have to open the autoexec.cfg file with Notepad on your desktop computer. Make changes to it. Then copy it back over the autoexec.cfg file on your PocketPC.

Hey guys I am running Pocket Quake on my OverClocked Casio E-125 it runs about 204 mhz I have had PQ for a very long time even before I over clocked my E-125 however with the optimization and the overclocking I don't notice any diffrence in FPS. 204mhz with quake editted to where it is hard to tell what it is your watching VS. 150mhz with everything high quility how can this be why are they both the same it makes no sense? I keep trying to save the config but when I exit quake it goes back to the original settings how do I prevent this even though it is kind of pointless when it does not matter but I would like to know anyway.

I did and the game runs and I can see all the changes it works but speed is still the same and if I exit and return to quake it will reset it.

Wow!Thanks for the optimizations guys.I use a combination of Mali's and James Sonne's autoexec settings.I've increased my PQ from 7.2 fps to 12.7 fps on my dell axim.(overclocked 403 mhz)

Without an optimised config, I received a 14.8 fps on my HP iPAQ 2215. With this config I scored a 18.1 fps. with a few adjustments I might be able to break 20 fps. =P

Pocket Quake II?

Postby Ipaq 2215 » Jun 27, 2003 @ 5:47am

James Sonne's config tips are awesome. Very many thanks.

Does anyone have similar tips for optimizing Quake II? It currently runs just shy of playable on my Ipaq 2215. I went through the QII forum but couldn't find anything.

I applied that glyphcache setting first at 16kb and it went up to 12.7fps i then applied the 32kb setting and the FPS fell back to 12.6fps.

I kept reducing it by 1kb and when i set it to 26kb my fps rose to 13.2fps a 0.5fps increase with such a simple setting change not bad at all :P

Has anyone made it run faster on a StrongARM SA-1110 i want to know weither i can squeeze more speed out of this.

FYI, the commands prefixed with gl_ will have absolutly no effect either way.

To check fps bring down the console and type in
"timedemo demo1"

I've heard of ram upgrades being done on certain ppc but it isn't a easy process. Making one from scratch is possible by using Single Board Computers but they tend to be very expensive in small quantities works out cheaper just to buy one.
