Dell X50 vs Asus 730

Sony Ericsson S700 looks really really nice. A lot of cameras are not high quality or have poor software implementation, but a few phones/pda's have quite good cameras.

the s700 is nice.... from one side it looks like sony's P series cameras.... pretty slick... it'd be sweet if it was a higher res camera... but if anyone can make a serious camera and phone combo, it'll be sony.

IMHO, the best comparison would be the Loox vs the Asus, not Dell.
One may say even, that the Loox is a better buy, with the biggest battery & RAM, same as HP screen, & CIR.

But button layout& size matters too, which Asus has best.

I dont know if some people may consider this a valid point, but I feel my "cooler" Toshiba755 screen looks nicer than my kids smoother/warmer AximX30 screen, which swayed me away from Dell screens all together.

No offence to camera PDAs/phones but the higher res. doesn't really do anything without digital focus. Take the obvious blur for example: when you compare a real 1.3MP digital camera with that found in the A730, or whatever device without digital focus, you'll find it's much more crisp. Justin, I think you best put it when you said "Anyone who buys a pocket pc because they want a digital camera isn't buying it for the right reasons", which pretty much reenforces that the camera's a cool gimmick that doesn't add much to the actual value of the device.

It's a neat gimmick, but it *does* have it's uses, like Justin said grabbing a photo of plates, a picture of a building to send to a friend, so on. Of course no one is going to do anything remotely serious with it, which is not what it's intended for (and what people keep comparing them to)
holy internets batman.

If someone could come up with an after market, adjustable focus lense, to mayby like fit in the extended battery case of the asus, then the camera would be perfect!

The Loox screen is 3.6", the HP screen is 4", they're not the same. Also the ram is the same size as the A730w

Blur is from the movement of the photo-taker during the picture, which isn't helped by PDA/Phone cameras because they don't have fast shutter speeds. Your comment about digital focus is true, but you're naming one thing and describing another. Btw, most 1 megapixel cameras now are at least two years old or ultra-slim models without optical zoom/focus anyawys. And digital focus gives pretty good results, such as my Casio Exilim S3 or the S710.

I was not refering to actual size, but the screen IS the same(from the same company)...Loox same too!

blur is from moving the camera/shaking and slow-shutter speeds make it worse.

available RAM for user is ridicolous on A730, I think that X50v it's better than ausus, what a pity for the lack of USB host and battery life with standard battery that is not good...
