Problem with Sam and Max key mapping

Problem with Sam and Max key mapping

Postby Baker » Feb 18, 2005 @ 11:10am

Hi guys,

I'm new here, just bought my new PDA and I'm loving it - I got one with a nice and fast processor so that I can play all of my favorite old games :P

I'm running an iPaq HX4700, and I've found I've got problems mapping the key in Sam and Max. I've mapped the right hand mouse click to the Calender button. When I press the button the "GAME PAUSED" overlay appears. I've also noticed that if I manage to perfectly time a TAP and a press of the button it'll change the symbol (i.e. from hand to eye) perfectly.

I've attached the INI file:

[scummvm]
aspect_ratio=false
fullscreen=true
lastselectedgame=samnmax
master_volume=192
multi_midi=false
music_driver=auto
music_volume=192
native_mt32=false
savepath=\CF Card\Games\Saved Games\
sfx_volume=192
speech_volume=192
subtitles=false
versioninfo=0.7.0

[indy3]
path=\CF Card\Games\INDY3\
platform=pc

[loom]
language=en
path=\CF Card\Games\Loom\
platform=pc

[monkey]
language=en
path=\CF Card\Games\MONKEY1\
platform=pc

[monkey2]
language=en
path=\CF Card\Games\MONKEY2\
platform=pc

[pocketpc]
action_mapping=0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 011a 0000 0000 0000 0000
action_mapping_version=3

[samnmax]
landscape=false
language=en
master_volume=192
music_volume=192
path=\CF Card\Games\SAMNMAX\
sfx_volume=192
speech_volume=192
subtitles=false

This occurs in 0.7.0 and the test version of 0.7.1. I've tried deleting the INI file but it still occurs.

If anyone could help me out it'd be great.

Cheers,

Kevin Baker

Will recheck - probably something that was not reported from an earlier build

Hi Arisme- I'm having the same problem with my HP4700/4705. No matter what key you try to map, the same code '0020' appears, but nothing is actually mapped. Tapping any key during the game, causes it to Pause.

This is true of course for any game requiring key mapping, not just Sam 'N Max.

I'm having the same problem on my Axim X50v. It seems like I can map the first key correctly, but then everything goes south quickly if I try anything else. Currently, I can't exit games (FT) and once I push the key to call up the keyboard, the bottom onscreen icons are locked up and can't be accessed.

I don't see this problem in Amazon Queen.
