Problem Running/Games

Problem Running/Games

Postby strategicproblem » Jun 11, 2002 @ 4:03pm

After uninstalling a demo game from my PocketPC(Casio E115), I had to reinstall several games because of "missing components". Now, I cannot install Strategic Assault and G-Prime at the same time. They must be sharing some sort of graphics file (GAPI?). Any ideas how to solve this problem? Also, I noticed that Pacman, Ms. Pacman, and DigDig by Microsoft don't work...must also use this "corrupted" and needed file. Thanks. :?

Download/copy gx.dll and place it into your windows directory. All GAPI games should work fine. As for why they won't work together, I don't know, but try gx.dll in the windows directory first.

BTW, you really don't need to post 3 times, though if it was an accident it's OK (been noticing that a lot recently)

Strategic Problem

Postby Guest » Jun 12, 2002 @ 5:28am

I copied the gx.dll file into the Windows directory. Then, I successfully loaded G-Prime, Pac-man, Ms. Pac-man, and Dig Dug back on the Casio. However, I'm still "missing a component" whenever I try to re-install Strategic Assault. Any more ideas? Oh, sorry about listing 3 times initially, but I got a "check network settings" that confused me. Thanks. :(

Have you removed all components of SA before reinstalling it? Uninstall from the Remove Programs box, and delete the directory yourself if uninstall isn't completly successful. Try copying over just the CAB file, if possible. (I don't have SA, I just lurk for the Interstellar Flames news :P)

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling every way that I can think of. Although it shows up under program files with a shortcut under programs, it is still missing components...???

Problem Re-installing SA

Postby Guest » Jun 18, 2002 @ 12:54am

Simon,
Please help me re-install FMOD if you think that's the problem. I downloaded a MIPS FMOD program, but wanted to make sure before heading into the dark by running it :!: . Thanks!

FMODCE.DLL was the culprit. Why?....I don't know. Thanks for your help, Simon. :o
