Hi,
i tried some of the commercially available screenshot/snapshot tools, but no one could do screenshots of running GAPI based games, so i decided to give it a try myself. The preliminary outcome can be downloaded at:
http://www.em-motion.com/emScreenShot/emScreenShot_SH3.zip
,
http://www.em-motion.com/emScreenShot/emScreenShot_MIPS.zip
and
http://www.em-motion.com/emScreenShot/emScreenShot_ARM.zip
Copy the dll into the \windows dir. and the exe anywhere you want on your PPC. Start the exe and select the path where you want your screenshots stored, then tap OK.
Caution, the program is hardcoded to respond to the OFF key, so you won't be able to switch your PPC off while emScreenShot runs . Just start the program again and tap Exit to actually quit it.
This is a very early alpha, so use at your own risk. It has been tested on a Toshiba e570, iPAQ 3630, Cassiopeia E115 and Siemens SX45 and it worked fine though.
If you have another device as the ones listed above, please post a short notice of success/failure.

I've only used Virtual CE while my PPC is connected to my PC. Its useful for grabbing movies of your app(15fps) as well. I wasn't aware that you can use it to take snapshots directly from the device itself.

If there isn't a snapshot feature built in, Print Screen should work fine, no?
Tried out the emScreenshot, works here.

I guess you're right about that randall... Virtual CE does require a connection with the pocket pc.

i know there are several apps that display the PPC screen on your desktop, thus also allowing snapshots from GAPI apps. But i wanted one that would run on the PPC itself for three reasons. First, apps like Virtual CE slow down my device, so playing performance intensive games while it runs isn't fun. Second, the refresh rate on the desktop is too low to make accurate snapshots of fast-paced games. Third, i can't make snapshots while playing sitting on the toilet

thanks, it seems to be an iPAQ issue. I'm waiting for an iPAQ device for testing purposes. I hope to solve the problem then.

i love tekken4 on my PS2 against my friend kurokaze, who periodically gets beaten. But, since we are working night and day to fix the last bugs in Dragon's Breed, i don't have time to play ATM.
(noticed the turn-over from off-topic? )

Yeah, there was a change in the topic . Tekken 4's graphic's are the best too! I like Law, and Hworang, they are pretty good fighter's. Some new character's in Tekken 4 aren't bad either.

Maybe you should play it in a while to get a break though.
