Fade

-The Game-

The whole game is extremely well done, every picture has an immense amount of detail. And it is blatantly obvious that the Fade Team spent a large amount of time on this project. Alex of the Fade Team told me the total time on this project was in the area of 7 months, I think its great that they were so dedicated to making Fade the best it can be.

In Fade, you play the character of Louis Everett, a rather amusing person. Which I found surprising, mostly because plot of the story is quite serious. But they managed to work in quite a lot of funny comments without detracting from the serious nature of the game. You start off slow, working on easy puzzles to get you used to the controls and learn the characters. Then the game progresses into a full-fledged missing persons mystery. There are more twist in this game than I can count on one hand, You start to think one thing, then you are rapidly thrown into another environment uncovering a little more of the truth through every move.

-Sounds-

Fade for the most part fade is silent, there is no background music, which I think is a good thing. There are however sounds for certain things such as opening doors. And there are many custom sounds for specific situations. All and all, they don't get repetitive, and they make playing Fade a better experience.

-Characters-

Anne asked me a question, and I can choose
from a list of possible replies.

You will meet many different people throughout the game. They are all very well thought out, and interesting. You interact with other people with a sort of question and answer system. They will say something, and you are given a list of responses which you can choose from. I wouldn't worry which reply you choose first, because you will have the opportunity to say them all.

-Complaints-

There isn't much that I didn't like about this game, but there is one thing that could be improved on. You see, Fade was made by a group of French developers, so the original language was naturally French. Then the English version was done, and there are some French to English translation errors. And some parts are simply left in French. I noticed the frequency of translation errors increased towards the end of the game for some reason. This did not however, effect the fun of the game, or put me at a disadvantage for solving the games many puzzles. Most errors were minor, and I could always figure out what they meant to say. So, as problems go this is not big at all, the Fade Team really put all their effort into this game and it shows.
