@migo PD-600C

-Background
Palmax manufactured the “@migo” for sale by a U.S. company, URThere. This was the second PocketPC that Palmax has manufactured after their first PocketPC, the PD-131, which was not a very revolutionary device. The @migo had more than its share of hiccups on its way to U.S. market, including many missed shipping dates and a very buggy beta release. Marc Yahr, who seemed to be in charge of the PocketPC division at URThere eventually quit. When I asked Stefan Harsch from URThere about Marc and his absence I was told:
“Matt,
Yes Marc left on his own terms, it was a blow for us, especially for me, since I had to take over his job for now. I guess he just got tired and frustrated of all these delays etc…”
Just about at this time things started to get rolling over at URThere, they had the devices ready to ship and were only waiting for Microsoft to give them the go ahead. In order to try and hurry things up URThere shipped out 36 units to some of the earliest orders they had (I was one of them). They sent the units as a “beta” so they could avoid trouble from Microsoft. Once they had received confirmation from Microsoft that they could ship, these 36 beta units then became a final product. That puts you up to date right up until now, so on to the fun stuff!
