eeek how long is a hard reset on my 3850 meant to take?? its been on the red compaq screen for about 20 mins now and nothing has happend?? !

I have followed the instructions that came with it, it goes to the compact screen like it should but thats it, it just stays like that and doesnt reset to factory settings :x.

well, hard resetting the h38xx/39xx takes about 5 sec. the order is very important.

1. press and hold the calendar and the itask buttons
2. press and hold the reset button using the stylus
3. [about 5 seconds of waiting]
4. release the calendar and the itask buttons
5. release the reset button

the instructions say to hold power button too :s

whoohoo i think i cracked it, i got my mate to help press all the buttons, u need to have two pairs of hands to press all the buttons at same time, I guess i just wasnt pressing them enough when i tried by myself :). Thanks for the help guys

pressing the power button isn't necessary. [at least on my brother's 3950]
