can't get video to play

can't get video to play

Postby tonyse755 » Aug 25, 2003 @ 2:10am

I downloaded a movie from the internet. After I try it on my computer, i want to convert it to play on my pocket pc. But when I try to play the movie on my computer, i get sound but no picture. supposably its an AVI file. Media player 9 doesnt recognize the video nor does realone player. I tried downloading the Divix player from real one. i still get no picture. only sound. I even tried another movie which is currnetly being downloaded
(also avi), but i have no luck. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
tony

Divx should work however if you got it from real one it is not Divx. I don't know if the rules of the new version 5 still don't apply to divx formatted movies for PPC but I know that almost all the movies you would be downloading that are Avi will run on Divx. I think the Divx with spyware has a better codec but don't quote me on that. Windows Media Player 9 dosent support most Avi files so if you are getting sound and no picture it is normal. Give Divx (The Real Divx not the Real one player just the plain Divx) another try and I am sure it should work. Also it would help if you could tell me what kind of movies your downloading i.e. unrealesed vs. released and so on.
