Sponge, maybe you think of GSM or something?

GSPlayer can play shoutcast (mp3) streams for example.
It should probably work just fine with GPRS, since it (gprs) has a top speed in the 100-200kbps range AFAIK. Beware if you pay per megabyte though ;)
