It says so on the PocketTV website, which I listed in my INITIAL POST. IF YOU WANT TO FIND OUT YOU CAN GO THERE AND SEE THAT IT SAYS IT WILL PLAY WMV FILES. SO EH! 500MB for 20 minutes? An entire 1 hour 45minute movie on my PPC is under 300 and is perfect quality, atleast for the small screen.

I too prefer WMV when it comes to file size.

There are some shows I have on tap like the Simpsons and futurama, which just don't need hundreds of megs to get their jokes accross. I've found that WMVs encoded as low as 244kbps are just great for TV Shows and most movies.

It goes like this, if you want to jam pack your storage device with video, opt for WMV. With the right settings, you'll be able to pack almost 3x more media files than mpgs.

On a side note, you *will* still need to keep some mpgs handy. These are for bragging rights. PocketTV, with the right mpg, can just look awesome when showing off your shiny PDA to your chums. I personally like to throw on the Ghost in the Shell intro for PSX. It's got a catchy tune, and has a lot of action to spice things up.

Is your E-125 overclocked? Mine is and I notice after 20 minutes of play it starts to do some quirky things, like the what you describe. I'm not sure of the cause because I didnt start playing movies until after I bumped up the speed.

I encoded a 6 minute video for my E125. It is about 12megs and resides on my 64 meg Flash Card. I just installed the Final Release of Windows Media Player 7.1 and I get very similar results. The sounds plays and then 7 seconds later it shows a frame, sound plays for another 5 seconds, then jumps to another frame.

Size: 320x176
FPS: 15
Bitrate: 251 kbps on my PC
Audio Bitrate: 96 kbps

Don't know what the problem is but it looks like I am sticking with Pocket TV. I can't get any WMV to work correctly. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

PS. I even tried the John West Salmon Commercial from this site, and it does the same thing. I think Windows Media Player 7.1 is a really crappy release. I may try loading the Tech Release 2 and see if that works better.

Ender
