Download and try a known working divx from the internet so you can find out if the problem is your player software or your encoding method.

why stay dependant to divx? download tmpgenc and convert it to mpeg format. then convert it using windows media encoder 9 and you'll have it in the smallest file size - while maintaining quality - possible. plus it's 100% ppc compatible w/o any need for 3rd party software.
