Didn't Sony invent the DVD format though? (not the actual Mpeg compression, that was Mpeg, but the format, i.e. the technology behind the disc format and the size of the laser/s for reading multiple layers, etc...)<br><br>Then again, they also invented the Minidisc format.... that sure took off.<br><br><br>I think what Dan is saying is that while they make some kick ass products, they shouldn't try to monopolize the market with hteir proprietary format, just because of their brand names... as we're all syncing our PPCs on our Desktops using MS Windows OS+ MSOutlook2000.........
