Also in Windows Media Player, you can set a button to "toggle screen", which is good when playing mp3s.<br><br>OR since you have an HP - if you hold down on the recharge light for 5 seconds, it will turn the screen off.<br><br>hit it again, and the screen will turn back on, it's a very cool trick.

So how many different apps are there?  We have the mirror apps (which turn off your light and black your screen, and looks nothing like a mirror), Screen off, which turns off the light and blacks out the screen, but doesn't 'turn off' the screen), and AT black (which turns off the blacklight ,but doesn't black out the screen) <br><br>what else is there?

ah, these apps are okay, but they should be expanded upon, and not completely disable your device while you use it.  I think there should be a greater degree over the control of the backlight other than the 4 preset ones by microsoft or just turning it completely off with these programs...  So much battery power is wasted using the backlight, and it could be conserved if we had more control over it.

I only could get PMirror running on my PSPC. It's supposed to turn the screen black, but it leaves a menubar at the top (looks pretty silly.)<br><br>I have to agree with Jaybot about the backlight munching down on juice. I doubt Microsoft will bother with it (especially with OLEP displays coming in a few years.) By the way, do you have a link to AT black? I couldn't find it on any download sites I know of.
