I was just reading the @migo review on BrightHand, and came across:
Gamers would be interested to know that the @migo can only process one button press at a time. So, you'd have to let up on the directional pad to get the "fire" button to fire for your favorite shoot-'em-up games.

I thought the initial word months ago from those with beta versions of the @migo is that it didn't have the button limitation like the iPaq. Did Brighthand goof?

Dan East

Last modification: Dan East - 05/09/01 at 05:40:31

No, at least not on the beta version part. I remember chatting with someone who was using one of the beta versions and he said that there were no button limitations also. Maybe brighthand goofed on their review of the new version, but who knows? I never really was that interested in the amigo, aside from plain curiosity of why it was being released.
i like the idea of the pcmia slot built in, but since its like incompatible with everything they can die. and 400mhz ipaqs will be out soon so blah.

Chuck, from what I've heard iPaq apps run fine on the @migo, even the direct screen access is compatible. I have heard that some wireless PCMCIA cards aren't working properly with the @migo, but software-wise it seems to do pretty well (after all, it has the exact same processor as the iPaq). The important thing is that it runs Pocket Quake; that's all that really matters. ;)

Dan East

The @migo can register ONE control pad button (up, down, left, right) and ONE of the other 4 buttons to the left of the control pad at a time. So it is not as bad as say, the iPaq. The only major problems I see with the buttons is that the control pad is only 4 way.
