how do i disable ipaq buttons as power ups?

Postby neogeo » Aug 30, 2001 @ 1:43pm

Hello, glad to find the forum. I just got my iPAQ and already got burned by battery drain from unintended powerup while the unit was in my bag.
how can I configure the unit so the only way to power it up is with the defalt power button. i would prefer to hold it for three seconds before power comes on. right now my unit is defalted to powerup when i press the tape record as well as all of the other buttons. i just want to turn it on at the power button. i cant find any information in the documentation on how to do this...
any advice would be apprec.

My ipaq came with a cheap little leather looking case. I had the same problem you have, having the unit power on while in my bag. After i started using the little pouch, it doesnt' turn on anymore when it's shuffled around in my bag.

just a thought

thanks,
yah i use the pouch now, the main thing is the tape record button getting pushed on accident.
someone at another forum suggested i can assign the buttons to various tasks but they all relate to software functionality...no assignments for powering the unit up...unless i'm not looking...
neogeo
