PocketPC 2002 activation

Comon, guys, the thread was going so well. I'm really learning with both of you, since all I know about Linux is "I've read that...". Maybe we can find a way to use a Linux PDA that syncs with a MS PC and that can use third party programs as PPC does.
The fact is this activation ranter (if it's true, of course) is bad for everybody.

In that case, RICoder, I apologize. I misinterpreted your response as an attack on my fondness for Linux, and an insinuation that I was a pre-pubescent geek.

:)

Apologies.

You're right, anyhow...this is one of the few forums that I'm actually fond of. I shall save flaming for somewhere else.

There was one released earlier this year, though I can't remember the name of it to save my life.

Blast.

Digby, I read the news but it says "Palm first announced plans to transition to ARM in April 2000", but that article came out this july. Anyway, I can't remember where, but I already had read that someplace else. Palm would create an emulator directly on the ROM of the devices so that Palm users won't need to trash all there pre-existing programs.
If they do that, they could be a rival to the PPC.

It's not that big of a deal, honestly. I've dealt with MS (customer support and directly) about silly things like this so many times, that it isn't the huge hassle that everyone is making it out to be (on the other thread). What's sad is that I've called MS customer support before and said things like, 'I'm trying to install win98SE upgrade, but i can't find my win95 cd' and they have simply responded with, 'okay, thats cool, type this in xxxxxxxx and it will unlock the upgrade seek and think its a full version.' no questions asked. i imagine it would be this easy to explain why you're installing winxp for the 49th time; or even you're ppc2002, after your third hard reset. as for linux, i personally find it too cumbersome for me to use than even windoze sometimes; i hate searching around for this or that driver/patch/version just to make it work in linux cuz it doesn't initially. Not to say that windoze isnt like that, it's just less often. And I'm a gamer, sorry :)

I hope it would go that way too, Jay. But I'd prefer not to have to call or connect to the web just to reinstall something that I payed for and is mine.
