if that's the only reason you're buying the thing, then I would hold off until you need some of the other features. PIM, multimedia (movies, audio, games ...). It's a pretty expensive device for what you get. Web browsing and email can be done on it, but IE's resolution is poor compared to any desktop or laptop (even with the rotate software). If you think you don't mind doing tons of scrolling (the resolution is 240x320, and yes that is correct, longer than it is wide) it might be worth it. For the same price as an iPaq you could also find a laptop that would give you a better experience browsing. Also keep in mind that it uses an older HTML standard than most modern browsers currently use today. Many of the effects that some larger sites use, are not available in PIE (Pocket Internet Explorer).
But, even with all those caveats, I love my PPC. I would never buy a laptop because I like the portability that the pocketpc offers. I use it for web browsing pretty frequently. But at the same time it is not where I would spend the majority of my time using it for webpages. I would recommend anyone getting one of these devices if they are willing to put up with some small limitations. Any other thoughts?
