eBook readin'

Postby James S » Feb 10, 2002 @ 2:36am

I've recently discovered how convenient it is to have 50+ ebooks on my PocketPC that I can read wherever I take my PocketPC, but I don't like that I can't see how many pages are left in a chapter or the entire book. Is there anywhere that has a page count type thing? I don't want to go into the table of contents and click on the next chapter because then I can't type "Furthest Read" anymore... I'm not sure how many of you people use MS Reader on a regular basis, but it's quickly becoming a favorite app, and it came preinstalled heaven forbid! But if anyone has any ideas I'd be forever grateful!

hm. i also use the reader quite often. its fun.
you cannot display the pages left using reader 1.0, it is possible in 2.0, which has a beautiful progress bar at the bottom :)
whenever i go back or forward to look, i set a bookmark. usually i dont do so, but that's the easiest way to return to the page you were reading.
i also have a special ebook cf-card. a 16-mb-cf-card full of ebooks. as you can imagine, the reader takes ages to load with them... :)

If you see ANY book by one Orson Scott Card, BUY IT! I'm so serious. He is the best author that has ever walked this planet. I want to go to Brown University in Providence, RI JUST so I can take one of his classes. I don't care what genre you like, get one of his books, because he writes EVERYTHING. Fiction, non-fiction, sci fi, fantasy, he's got it all. And he's so articulate. You can SEE everything he writes. It's not that he explains it in painful detail, it's just that he's got some way with words. He is AMAZING! Let me make you a list of books and a link to get em. BRB
