E200 backlight

Postby Fish » Mar 18, 2002 @ 2:44am

Well, like I said in my first post. $600 any maybe it will work and maybe not?

I also had a problem where sometimes I'd have to soft reset to get the backlight to come on when it did, sort of, work.

I kept my Palm pilot on hand since I learned quickly that I couldn't rely on the E200.

Let's say my car dies on the highway at night. So I break out my cell phone and reach for my E200 so I can look up a friends number, or AAA. Well what do you know? The back light isn't coming on, so I can't see jack shit.

Yeah, I have a flashlight. And I could program every concievable number into my cell phone. I have pencil and paper too.

So why do I have this E200?

Call a palm pilot a pet rock if you want. But the palm pilot has this one feature that the E200 doesn't: It works. All the time. My palm IIIX is almost three years old and it has never given me a bit of trouble. My E200, two weeks to the day that I opened the box, and I'm returning it.

So you say a 5AP serial number? Let me write this down so I remember, on a piece of paper, or my palm pilot, so I have this info in case I really need it.

sigh.

damn casio and their e200, making themselves a shitty name.

my e100 and e125 still work as good as they did from day 1. thats the quality they were known for.

now the e200 is reminding me of my ipaq.

blech.

Speaking of things that just work my ipaq 3765 works great. 2 minor problems, 1. really minor the stylus holder is a little worn and it pops up somethimes. 2. The auto back light feature gets confused in extreem sun light and goes dark instead of bright, but I don't use the auto brightness feature and just set it to what I need(I change it very rarely)

The best part of the ipaq is pc card sleeve. I use the same deviced for my laptop and ipaq. Most vendors have CE drivers, and the sleeve comes with backup battery so I can go 5 days of regular use before I have to recharge, and when using wireless network pc card battery life is just not an issue with the backup. At least for the 37xx series the Ipaq rocks.

That's why I am sticking with my E-125, solid as a rock. I bought it used and have had it for over a year already with NO problems whatsoever.

But, here's the thing. The E200 outperforms all the other PPCs in benchmarking tests. So....

So...doesn't mean a thing if you cannot rely on it. My E-125 does everything I need it too, including playing almost all of the games out there, and I can rely on it! :D

Well getting ahold of a 5AP turned out to be a pain in the ass for my supplier so I told him to send me a 3850 with the CF adapter instead.

If I have trouble with that... well... I may just have to get a life.
