It shouldnt surprise anyone that MW are useless, look at their previous games. As I remember they were sold for 25 usd when I could have written them in 10 minutes in visual basic.

Also, theres no point talking about Rob getting a license unless he finds his source code again.

Even with a license it would be illegal for MW to use someone elses (not id's) GPL modified code in their port.

There are two seperate licenses that can be used for the same WinDoom source code.

a) You can download and modify the code free of charge under the General Public License but through this license the source code to all projects created through id's source must be made public as soon as the executables are made public.
b) One can choose to PURCHASE a license from id Software that allows the purchaser to package the executables with the data files AND to keep any work they perform on the source code private.

MachineWorks chose this second (b) path, which means they don't have to do squat and can pretty much do what they want to with their DoomPDA product.
