PocketSNES X-Scale Optimizations?

PocketSNES X-Scale Optimizations?

Postby SmarterThanSam » Mar 24, 2003 @ 5:26am

Do any of you guys know if the developers of PocketSnes have any plans for adding optimizations for the x-scale processors?

I just decided to get a Dell Axim X5 (400 mhz one) over the Jornada 568 i had been planning to get, and now im wondering, since the emulator runs better on the ARM processors at the moment (or at least so ive heard), that maybe i should have stuck with the Jornada.

Any opinions?

PocketSNES by srambsy was compiled all wrong. He knows nothing about C++, he only adds features and crap. The author of pocketnester is making one, which will be better than his.

You should've sticked with the jornada for gaming, but ti doesn't matter anyways since overclocking an xscale is the same performance.

How much overclocking?

I don't wanna blow it up. I cant afford to replace it.

There are some like Pocket Hack Master, and others which are free. The free ones isnt as functional as PHM, but it costs money. Get it from Kazaa or something. You have a 99% of nothing going wrong. Although it may be a bit unstable. Overclock it to 478mhz and see how it goes. Also set your Frame Skip 1, 2, 3 for which ones best.

If you bought a PocketPC to play PocketSNES on then I seriously hope they never make a SNES emulator at a playable speed. Sorry if this sounds spiteful, but you should have bought a GameboyAdvanced SP.

Meh, Nintendo should release a pocketable SNES. How hard could it be, discounting the size of the cartridge?

hey, you could easily fit a SNES cartridge in your pocket!

...you just need a VERY big pocket...
