NetFront3 DNS errors

NetFront3 DNS errors

Postby zinger » Apr 12, 2003 @ 1:08am

I was trying out NetFront. It worked fine until I turned on 128bit WEP. Now it no longer resolves ip's, I receive DNS timeouts. It works if I use ip addresses. I manually entered DNS servers in software registry, still no luck. PocketIE works fine using names. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Brian

Turn off WEP. It slows down the speed anyway. Use MAC filtering if you want to restrict your WAP access to certain client devices.

I am running MAC address control, but can't that be spoofed? I know it slows things down, but I'd like to keep the WEP on.

If a hacker really wanted to, he could sniff the network and break the encryption.

Only takes 1 million packets (ie about 30 minutes of casual surfing) to break it.
