encoding??

How Do i encode with the windows media 8 encoder. Keep in mind that im not very good with computers and i dont really get the directions. Also, when i open up a command prompt window (or what i think is one, its a black box right?) It will exit before im done typing it it. Thanks :D

I use WMV also... I can't figure out virtualdub so I use Stoik Video Converter

I would like wmv but I hate using the windows media player. I like to have all the options to tweak and to know the fps and dropped frames etc. I feel out of control with acess to just play :wink:

I find that you should change your encoding settings to suit your needs. Use high bitrates if theres lots of action and movment, or if its a talky film up the sound quality. Just give it the best settings you can to give you smooth playback.
